Rainer Hosch was born 1970 in Vienna, Austria. My father was a photojournalist, my mother a photo enthusiast. I was raised on bread, cameras, film, prints and the smell of developer in the air. I got my first camera for my 8th birthday and my first start documenting the underground music scene as a teenager. I studied photography at the school of Photography and Audio-Visual Media in Vienna. I moved to New York in 1996. I now live in Topanga, CA with my wife Sinead and our three young kids Coco, Romy, and Ronan. My camera work brings me to places all over the world and I strive to document with authenticity, consistency and a sharp eye. I create portraits, lifestyle and beauty images for a wide variety of clients. People tell me I have a talent to find real and authentic moments, easily adapting to any situation. I think of myself as #themanwiththecamera.
