Jussi Puikkonen nails the essence of the people and places he photographs. He focuses more on capturing the moment than creating the moment. He moves with ease from commercial projects to editorial photography to art photography. But essentially, a good image is a good image in any of these contexts.

Jussi is based in Amsterdam, but even though adapting quickly to the big city antics in the small-town-seeming surroundings, you can still detect the Finnish influence of someone who grew up in rural Finland. You can take the man out of Jokioinen but you can't take the mud off his boots.

Jussi's first book of photography "On Vacation" was published in 2008 by Edition Patrick Frey. He graduated from Lahti University of Applied Sciences Institute of Design in 2007. He is the co-founder of the awarded Kasino A4 magazine, where he acted as the Director of Photography. He has featured in group and private exhibitions since 2002. In 2008 he was named the Magazine photographer of the year in Finland (Vuoden aikakauslehtikuvaaja) by Aikakausimedia.
