FABIAN WEISS (born 1986) is a freelance photographer for national and international publications. Since his studies of photography in Vienna, Denmark and London, his personal projects explore cultural changes in personal structures. Searching for small and telling gestures, the cinematic images he creates are acutely observed portraits within a broader assessment of their surrounding culture. It is their closeness and intimacy that catch attention and create a bond between the observer and the documented people.
Fabian's work has been honored by the CNN Journalist Award, the BFF Award, the Getty Images Emerging Talent Grant, the Pride Photo Award and the Austrian Lenses price, among others. He was also a finalist in the European Publishers Award, the German Bank Award in Photography, Spotlight Fotovisura of Grant, the Ian Parry Scholarship and was nominated for the PDN 30 New and Emerging Photographers to Watch and the Joop Swart Masterclass.
His photographic essays have been published in numerous media such as GEO, TIME, Le Monde and The Sunday Times Magazine and exhibited in many European countries. Fabian Weiss lives in Estonia and Germany and works in Europe and eastwards
