Michele Filomeno
Photo Agency
Paris, Milano, New York
Founded in Milan in 1984, Michele Filomeno began by representing photographers such as Deborah Turbeville, David Bailey, Patrick Demarchelier, Paolo Roversi, Sheila Metzner, Gordon Monroe, Chris Callis and creative director Juan Gatti.
The agency evolved rapidly and by 1985 was gradually being joined by the younger generation of photographers, including figures such as David Seidner, Lance Stedtler, Piero Gemelli, Javier Vallhonrat, Steven Klein, Sante D'Orazio, Mario Testino and illustrators Tony Veramontes and François Berthoud.
In the period between 1984 and 1990, the agency was involved in editorial collaborations with leading international publications and advertising campaign projects involving all of the major names in fashion and multinational corporations, including Valentino, Versace, Armani, Ferré, Gucci, John Galliano, Missoni, Moschino, Romeo Gigli, Martine Sitbon, Jil Sander, Sybilla, Trussardi, LOréal, Coty, Procter & Gamble and Euroitalia.
This lead to the opening of a new office in Paris in September 1990, with a NY office following in 1996. In the same period new artists including photographers Enrique Badulescu, Michelangelo Di Battista and Guido Mocafico as well as more established figures such as Dominique Issermann, Giovanni Gastel, Steve Hiett, and Peter Lindbergh joined the agency.
A stylist department was also created, representing artists such as Robert Rabesteiner, Babeth Djian, Marie-Amélie Sauvé, Carine Roitfeld, Emmanuelle Alt, Sissy Vian, Alexandra Woroniecka, Spela Lenarcic and Franck Benhamou.
In 2012, Michele Filomeno added a bespoke communications department dedicated to the development of our artists profiles via cultural and institutional platforms.
With 30 years of experience as a leading agency our focus is on representing conceptual artists whatever their individual specialisation. Complementing this, we specialise in the development of reportage and fine art artists such as Eric Valli, Paolo Ventura, Bruno Aveillan, Javier Vallhonrat and Francois Hallard. We also actively pursue the development of the work of our artists in the field of film.
