He started to build up his career as a photographer as he entered to Mimar Sinan Uni.Faculty of Fine Arts, Photography Department in 1996. Erbil says “ If I were not a photographer, I would become a psychotherapist. What I really care about is the expression on people’s faces that reveal the true emotions. I believe that’s what makes me a social animal”. Focusing on lifestyle and portrait photography, Erbil Balta became a leading worldwide commercial photographer. He worked with many brand companies and magazines like The Times, Vogue, Elle, Travel&Leisure, Conde Nast, Monocle, Centurion. Furthermore there are many prizewinning commercials that he contributed as a photographer:
