After graduating The Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, Matthijs started as a full time assistant for Martijn Oort & Olaf Veltman. After that he went to Australia and worked for Adrian van Valen.

Matthijs’ first big campaign was for TBWA and was published in Lurzer Archive.
In 2001 he won a silver Lion award in Cannes for a campaign for Rapp Collins.

Working on projects with complicated challenges, and searching the limits, brings the best out in him, even when he has to risk his equipment.

Matthijs works locally in the U.S. and Europe for renowned agencies and clients such as BMW Motors, Yamaha Motors, Nissan, Ford, Land Rover, ABN AMRO, Rabobank, Sixt, Coca Cola, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Delta Lloyd, KPN, Centraal beheer and more.
