William Baker is a Photographer, a Director of live music shows, a Stylist and has also become one of the most sought after Creative Directors in the world of pop music. He has photographed, styled and directed some of the most influential names in pop including Kylie Minogue, Rihanna, Jamiroquai, Britney Spears, Lily Allen, Leona Lewis, Garbage, Bjork, Fiona Apple, Tricky, Geri Halliwell, Westlife and Victoria Beckham.
William has a passion for pop-culture and fashion. Constantly seeking out new challenges, he always explores a variety of media as a means of creative expression. His close and constantly developing relationship with Kylie Minogue has allowed him to produce some of the most iconic and enduring pop imagery of our time. He develops all design concepts and directs all creative aspects relating to Kylie's live shows and career; performance, choreography, production/set design, lighting, video and costume.
William's award-winning productions for Kylie include 'KylieFever', 'Showgirl', 'Showgirl Homecoming' and 'Kylie X', all of which have established her as one of the world’s best live performers. A highlight of William's career is the 'Aphrodite: Les Folies' tour which has been cited as Kylie's biggest and most ambitious live show to date.
In 2007, William made his theatre directorial debut in London’s West End (UK) with his revival of Rent – Rent Remixed – at the Duke of York’s Theatre. 2011 saw William’s first production of 'The Hurly Burly Show' in London’s West End at the Leicester Square Theatre, which has lead to subsequent productions at The Garrick Theatre, London (2010) and The Duchess Theatre, London (2012) and Emperors Palace, Johannesburg (2012).
Most recently, William has created and directed a new show called ‘Orchid’ in Miami, Florida. With a cast of world-class performers, ‘Orchid’ is a unique theatrical cocktail of song, dance, glamour, burlesque, aerial acrobatics and variety arts performed inside a vintage European cabaret tent on the outskirts of Miami’s well-known Design District.
William was awarded the Visionary Award at the 2008 Elle Style Awards in the UK for his eclectic and glamorous catalogue of work over the last decade and a half.
